HMD Global is once again banking on nostalgia with its latest project, the HMD Slate Tab 5G. Leaks suggest this tablet will feature aesthetics reminiscent of the popular Nokia Lumia series. Alongside, the company is gearing up to launch the HMD Skyline smartphone, which also draws inspiration from the iconic Lumia 920.

Under the hood, the HMD Slate Tab 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, a chipset found in other recent tablets like the Redmi Pad Pro and Poco Pad. Users can expect 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable via a microSD card slot.

The device is said to come with a substantial 9,250mAh battery, supporting 30W fast charging. Connectivity options will include a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.2, and an integrated 5G modem. Additionally, the tablet will support stylus input and can connect to a keyboard cover, making it a versatile tool for both entertainment and productivity.

While the release date for the HMD Slate Tab 5G remains under wraps, the HMD Skyline smartphone is expected to debut in July. In related news, HMD Global is also working on another device, the HMD Ridge Pro. This smartphone will feature a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC and a 6.64-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Details on pricing and availability for the Ridge Pro are yet to be revealed, but it is anticipated to be a lower-mid-range offering, likely launching next month.
