Redmi Pad 2 just leaked with an 11″ 90Hz display, Helio G100 Ultra chip & a massive 9,000mAh battery! But there’s a catch… Details inside!

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is gearing up to launch the second generation of its tablet, expected to be called the Redmi Pad 2. A new leak has given fans a sneak peek into the upcoming device’s design, features, and hardware upgrades. Coming more than two years after the original Redmi Pad, this new model looks to offer a few meaningful changes — though not everything is an upgrade.

Redmi Pad 2 Design Tweaks and Comeback of the Audio Jack
The leaked renders show that Redmi Pad 2 will continue with the all-metal body like its predecessor, keeping the build slim and durable. The device has rounded corners and a flat front, offering a modern and clean look.

What’s New in Design:
- Slim metal body
- Rounded edges
- New pill-shaped rear camera housing
- Return of the 3.5mm audio jack (missing in the original model)
- Same button placement as before
One major change is the camera design. Redmi has replaced the rectangular camera block from the first version with a pill-shaped camera island, which still contains only one lens but gives a refreshed appearance.
Redmi Pad 2 Display and Performance Boosts
The Redmi Pad 2 will reportedly feature a slightly larger 11-inch display. Unlike the first model, this one will offer a better 1600 x 2500 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, giving users a smoother and sharper viewing experience.
In terms of power, Redmi is swapping the old Helio G99 processor with the newer Helio G100 Ultra chip. This should help improve performance in day-to-day tasks and light gaming. Two variants are expected in terms of memory:
Variant | RAM | Storage |
---|---|---|
Base Model | 4GB | 128GB |
High-End Model | 8GB | 256GB |
Redmi Pad 2 Battery and Charging
The new tablet will come with a larger 9,000mAh battery, which means more screen time between charges. However, fast charging is still limited to 18W, which might feel a bit slow compared to some competitors.
Redmi Pad 2 Camera and Sound Setup
While the rear camera stays the same at 8MP, the front-facing camera has been downgraded to 5MP. This could be a downside for users who often use their tablet for video calls or selfies.
However, one area that continues to shine is the audio. The quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support returns, making the Redmi Pad 2 a solid choice for watching movies or listening to music.
Redmi Pad 2 Pricing and Availability
The leaked prices for the Redmi Pad 2 suggest that it will continue to be a budget-friendly option:
- €229 (Approx. ₹19,999) for the 4GB + 128GB variant
- €279 (Approx. ₹23,999) for the 8GB + 256GB variant
There is no official word on the launch date yet, but the leaks suggest the launch could happen soon. Stay tuned for the official announcement and release date.
