HMD, the company behind Nokia phones, seems to be getting ready to launch some new smartphones. Recently, two HMD smartphones, codenamed Legend and LegendPro, were discovered on the Geekbench benchmark database by the folks at 91mobiles. These new phones appear to be targeting the budget segment of the market.
HMD Smartphone Geekbench Scores Revealed
According to the benchmark listings, the HMD Legend scored 379 and 1,370 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively, on the Geekbench 6.2 benchmark. Meanwhile, the HMD Legend Pro achieved 373 and 1,384 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively.
The Geekbench listings also reveal that both the HMD Legend and LegendPro will feature an octa-core processor with a peak frequency of 1.6GHz. Additionally, these listings suggest that the processors in these devices will include an integrated Mali G57 GPU.
Based on this information, it’s likely that the upcoming HMD Legend and LegendPro will be powered by a UniSoC T606 chipset. This chipset is also used in other smartphones like the Infinix Smart 8 HD, Tecno Spark Go 2024, and itel P55+.
The benchmark listings also indicate that the HMD Legend will come with 4GB of RAM, while the LegendPro will feature 8GB of RAM. Both phones are expected to run on the latest version of Android, Android 14.
What We Know So Far About HMD Smartphones?
While details about the specifications of these upcoming HMD phones are still scarce, they seem to have a design reminiscent of the old Nokia Lumia series. This speculation is based on the redesigning of the former Nokia website. Recently, HMD teased three phones in bright colors like blue, green, and pink. It’s likely that two of these are the HMD Legend and LegendPro, as they are expected to be among the first batch of phones to be released.
Leaks about these upcoming HMD phones have been popping up sporadically. 91mobiles previously leaked a render of one of HMD’s first phones, which appeared to be a lower mid-range device with a plastic, matte back. Another leak suggested that one of the smartphones from the first batch could feature a 108MP OIS camera. Tipster Evan Blass also shared that the upcoming HMD phones were codenamed Pulse, Legend, Pulse+, Legend Plus, Pulse Pro, and Legend Pro.
It’s speculated that the first batch of phones may include as many as three models, while a total of nine have been certified by the IMEI. HMD has announced an event at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month, which is expected to feature the unveiling of these new smartphones.
