OPPO Reno 12 Series To Get Custom Sony Sensor
According to the leaks, OPPO is diligently working on a tailored Sony lens, presumably for the primary camera of the Reno 12 series. The incorporation of this customized Sony sensor is anticipated to elevate the smartphone’s photography capabilities significantly.
In its previous iteration, the OPPO Reno 11 Pro boasted a Sony IMX890 primary lens with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). With the upcoming Reno 12 series, OPPO seems poised to take things further, possibly integrating a custom Sony lens based on the LYT 900 sensor. However, specifics about the camera sensors in the Reno 12 series remain undisclosed for now.
Anticipated Specifications of OPPO Reno 12 Series
Rumours suggest that the Reno 12 series might sport a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary lens with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP tertiary lens supporting 2x optical zoom. Additionally, there’s talk of a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus support. While the vanilla Reno 12 could share a similar camera setup, its selfie camera might lack autofocus functionality.

This chipset marks a significant upgrade from the Dimensity 8200 SoC found in the Reno 11 Pro.
