Vivo is getting ready to launch its next-gen foldable phone – the Vivo X Fold 5 – and now, the first official image has been shared online. This new foldable is drawing attention not just for its flexible design but also for the advanced display features and a fresh design change.
The image was posted by Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao on Weibo. Along with the picture, he revealed a few exciting details about the phone’s screen and build quality. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect from the Vivo X Fold 5.

Bright and Smooth Display In Vivo X Fold 5
One of the highlights of the Vivo X Fold 5 is its dual LTPO 8T AMOLED displays. Both the outer and inner screens are built using this premium tech, which allows for a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. That means smooth visuals whether you’re gaming, browsing, or watching videos.

Although Vivo hasn’t confirmed its function yet, it could be a programmable button, possibly used for launching apps, taking screenshots, or toggling silent mode quickly.

The Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to be highly durable, much lighter, and extremely thinner foldable. In previously shared video by Vivo has shown the weight test of X Fold 5 and X Fold 3, in which the X Fold 5 weighs less than its predecessor.
This foldable is also going to be survived even in extreme weather conditions. According to Vivo, the phone will:

The foldable is likely to be launched in China around July 2025, although there are chances it may arrive a bit earlier in June, depending on Vivo’s schedule.
There is no word yet on whether the Vivo X Fold 5 will make it to India. The standard X Fold 3 was not launched in the country, although the X Fold 3 Pro was. So, there’s a possibility Vivo may follow the same path and bring only the Pro version of the X Fold 5 to the Indian market.
