The Nothing Phone (3) is ready to debut on July 1st and will be introduced in both global and Indian markets. This will be the third major release from Nothing, following the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. Nothing has officially announced that the upcoming Phone (3) will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. This is the most advanced processor used in a Nothing smartphone so far.
This chipset was released in April 2024, and brings several improvements:

- 49% better gaming performance compared to the older generation
The iQOO Neo 10, a mid-range phone priced at ₹31,999, also uses the same processor in India. So, it’s a bit surprising that Nothing has chosen this chip for a phone priced as a flagship. Still, the company seems confident that the overall experience will meet high-end expectations.
Nothing Phone (3) OS Updates: Confirmed by Co-founder
Nothing is also making headlines for its long-term software commitment. Co-founder Akis Evangelidis confirmed via a reply on X (formerly Twitter) that the Nothing Phone (3) will receive 7 years of software updates along with 5 years of security patches.
This announcement came after a user questioned the company’s decision to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 instead of the higher-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Gen 4 Elite. In his response, Evangelidis stated that the 8 Gen 3, despite being considered more premium, comes with weaker GPU, ISP, connectivity, and NPU, and only supports 4 years of software updates. In contrast, the 8s Gen 4 allows Nothing to promise a longer and more stable update cycle.
So while the Phone (3) may not pack the absolute top-tier chipset, it makes up for it with a focus on longevity and performance optimization over time — something Android users deeply value.

- A dual-camera setup placed vertically
- A third lens beside it, which may be a periscope sensor
However, there’s some confusion about the render. It might actually belong to the Phone (3a) Pro prototype, as a similar device was spotted in a video from the brand itself.
Nothing Phone (3) Made in India, Designed for the World
Another highlight is that the Nothing Phone (3) will be manufactured locally at the company’s plant in Chennai, India. This aligns with Nothing’s efforts to push “Make in India” smartphones to a global audience.
Nothing Phone (3) may not use a top-tier flagship chip like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the performance gains over previous models could still make it a solid buy—especially for those who want a stylish phone with decent power.
