Samsung’s next-gen “Tri-Fold Phone” just leaked! It folds TWICE! Check the insane specs, revolutionary design, and why it could be the biggest phone of 2025!

Samsung might be preparing something big for its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9th, 2025. Alongside the expected Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE, the company could unveil a brand-new folding device that folds not once, but twice — a tri-fold design.
Thanks to some keen eyes over at Android Authority, we now have an early look at this upcoming foldable through files spotted in a recent One UI 8 build. The leaked animations give us some insight into how Samsung’s new foldable might work and look.

How Samsung’s New Tri-Fold Phone Folds?
Instead of the typical single-fold design we’ve seen with the Z Fold series, this new model, possibly called the Galaxy G Fold, has two hinges and folds in a unique way.
Here’s how the folding mechanism works:
- The left panel folds inward over a blank, non-display area.
- Then, the right panel folds inward again, covering the already folded left side.
- This creates a compact, layered fold, offering better protection for the inner screens.
Samsung may call this design “Multifold” instead of “tri-fold” since it only folds twice, not thrice — even though it has three segments.
Samsung’s New Tri-Fold Phone Key Design Highlights
From what we can tell through the leak:
- Two hinges allow the phone to fold into three parts.
- The rightmost screen includes a punch-hole camera.
- The middle section also has a punch-hole, not an under-display camera.
- The left section of the back houses a triple-camera setup, making it a total of four cameras on the back.
- One part of the front is a blank panel — not a screen.
- The hinges appear to be of different sizes, possibly for better durability or folding precision.

What Makes This Tri-Fold Phone Different?
This isn’t Samsung’s first attempt at an advanced foldable concept. In the past, we’ve seen the Flex G and Flex S prototypes. The Flex G design is similar to what we’re seeing here, with two inward folds. Meanwhile, the Flex S design featured both inward and outward folds and resembled Huawei’s Mate X series.

What stands out here is the practical approach. By folding inward on both sides, the Multifold design protects the display when not in use and could offer a larger unfolded screen than the Z Fold series.
While these details are based on leaks and early software findings, they give us a good idea of what Samsung could be cooking up. Whether the final name ends up being Galaxy G Fold, Multifold, or something else, we’re likely looking at Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything officially yet, but with just a few days left until Galaxy Unpacked 2025, we won’t have to wait long to see what’s truly in store.
