The upcoming Redmi A3x is upgraded with Unisoc T603, a glass back design, a 6.71″ HD+ display, 50MP camera, Android 14, and a 5000mAh battery. Launching soon!
Just a few months after the launch of the Redmi A3, Xiaomi’s sub-brand is gearing up to introduce another entry-level smartphone in the A series – the Redmi A3x. Although Redmi has yet to officially announce the phone, SpillSomeBeans shared the official marketing materials, revealing the device in its entirety. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Redmi A3x.
Redmi A3x Key Upgrades: Chipset and Design
Enhanced Performance with Unisoc T603
The Redmi A3x will differ from its predecessor, the A3, primarily in two areas. First, the chipset has been upgraded. While the A3 was equipped with MediaTek’s Helio G36, the A3x will feature the Unisoc T603. According to the marketing materials, both chipsets perform similarly on the AnTuTu benchmark. However, the T603 boasts a superior architecture with two Cortex A75 cores and six Cortex A55 cores, compared to the eight Cortex-A53 cores found in the G36. This should translate to more efficient performance and better multitasking capabilities.
Refreshed Design with Glass Back
The second notable change is in the design. The Redmi A3 was available in a vegan leather finish in the Forest Green color. In contrast, the A3x will sport a glass back, available in the new Aurora Green variant. Additionally, the Star Blue color of the A3 will be replaced by Moonlight White in the A3x, while the Midnight Black option remains unchanged. All color options for the A3x will feature a glass back with plastic frames, giving the phone a premium feel. The device measures 8.3mm in thickness, maintaining a sleek profile.
Core Specifications Of Redmi A3x
Display and Build
The Redmi A3x will retain many of the core specifications of the Redmi A3. It will feature a 6.71-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, providing smooth visuals. The display will also support DC Dimming and be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, ensuring durability against scratches and minor impacts.
Camera System
The back of the Redmi A3x will house a circular camera module with two lenses – a 50MP main sensor and an auxiliary sensor. Interestingly, Xiaomi’s marketing materials highlight that the A3x’s camera design is reminiscent of their flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra, referring to it as a “Xiaomi heritage design.” For selfies, the phone will come with a 5MP front camera.
Battery and Additional Features
The Redmi A3x will be powered by a substantial 5000mAh battery, promising extended usage without frequent recharges. For security, the device will include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone will debut with 3GB of RAM and an option to virtually expand the memory by an additional 4GB. It will run on Android 14 out of the box and come with promises of two years of Android updates and three years of security patches, ensuring the device remains up-to-date with the latest software enhancements and security features.
