HMD has officially introduced the HMD Skyline smartphone, inspired by the classic Nokia Lumia design and focusing on easy repairability. This new device brings several impressive features, including a high-refresh-rate display, a powerful camera setup, and a user-friendly repair process. HMD Skyline Gen2 Repairability
The standout feature of the Skyline is its Gen2 Repairability, which allows users to easily repair their phones at home. The number of steps required to repair the Skyline’s screen is 65% less compared to HMD’s first repairable smartphone, the G22. Users can simply turn one screw to pop open the back cover using a screwdriver and a pry tool.
Once the back cover is removed, you can access various components:
- Display: Remove screws and disconnect the display cable to replace the screen.
- Battery: Pull apart the built-in plastic liner to separate the battery from the chassis and clean out adhesive residue before installing a new battery.
- Other Components: Replace bent charging ports and scratched back covers with ease.

HMD Skyline Display and Performance
The HMD Skyline features a 6.55-inch pOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and HDR10 video playback. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, providing robust performance. HMD Skyline Camera Setup
The Skyline boasts a versatile camera setup. On the Rear side it contains triple Camera setup of 108MP main sensor with Hybrid OIS + 13MP ultra-wide lens + 50MP telephoto lens with 50mm portraits and 4K video capture.
The front panel comes with a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and eye-tracking. The Selfie has a gesture hardware that captures selfies with hand signs, and an update in August will enable 4K selfie videos.
HMD Skyline Battery and Charging
The phone packs a 4600mAh battery that promises up to 48 hours of use. It supports 33W fast charging, Qi wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. HMD claims the battery will retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 800 full charging cycles.

HMD Skyline Pricing and Availability
The HMD Skyline is available in two configurations: the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model priced at £399 (approx. Rs 43,400) and the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model costs £499 (approx. Rs 54,300). Both models are available in Neon Pink and Twisted Black colors.
The Skyline is already on sale on HMD’s official website in select countries including Europe, the UK, and the US. HMD has not confirmed launch of Skyline in India but they are launching new phones in India on July 25th.
