HMD Global is preparing to release not one, but two successors to its Skyline smartphone. The upcoming HMD Skyline 2 and Skyline 2 GT have had their key features leaked online, and from the looks of it, both devices are shaping up to be strong upgrades over the original HMD Skyline.
Shared by the known leaker @smashx-60 on X (formerly Twitter), the leaked details give us a good look at what’s coming, including better displays, stronger performance, and camera improvements. Here’s a full breakdown of what to expect.

Brighter Displays Of HMD Skyline 2 & Skyline 2 GT
Both models will come with a 6.55-inch FHD+ pOLED screen and a 144Hz refresh rate, which was also seen in the original Skyline. However, the newer models will get a big improvement in screen brightness:

- HMD Skyline 2 GT: Upgraded to Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, same as found in the new Honor 400
The GT model is clearly being positioned as the more premium version, with more powerful internals.

The camera systems on both phones see slight upgrades. While the Skyline 2 keeps the same rear camera setup as the original model, the GT version gets more advanced features:

According to the leak, the HMD Skyline 2 will be launched sometime in July 2025. It’s unclear whether the Skyline 2 GT will be released at the same time or separately.
